Brewery Tour

Written by Kathleen Seide

I have a passion for helping others meet their goals. I focus on the important issues facing people. I am curious and adventurous by nature. I love exploring and understanding the world, sometimes that means meditation and other times I hike hours into the wilderness to see where a path leads.

I had family in town last week, and we decided to create our own brewery tour of St. Pete. It was such a fun day, we got on bikes as the end of Central Ave and rode to local breweries all afternoon. If you don’t know some of these places yet it is worth your time to check them out.

Cycle Brewing

Cycle Brewing is the closest brewery we visited to downtown St Pete. Space is decorated well, with lots of art on the walls. If you ride a bike there is a rack for storing it in the back once you get there.

Green Bench Brewing

Green bench has a really nice space and a beautiful beer garden. There was a food truck when we were there making wood-fired pizzas to order. The beer garden is beautiful and it looks like they have a wall set up for movie screenings.

Cage Brewing

Cage Brewing had one of my favorite beers of the day. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name, I guess I’ll have to go back to find out. The space has a dive bar feel, with a few games inside and a huge seating area outside. To catch some breeze on a cool night we sat in the open air area under the oak tree.

3 Daughters Brewing

3 Daughters Brewing is another well known craft brewery in the area. Their beers are sold around the state (maybe further?). They have a great selection of good beer. One of my favorites on the menu isn’t beer, it’s  the Key Lime Cider.

Urban Comfort

We found out the hard way that Urban Comfort doesn’t brew beer anymore. The big stainless steel tanks outside tricked us! (They are for sale if you know any brewmiesters looking for gear). The restaurant is still open, and they have a good selection of local craft beers on tap.

Across the Bridge

We did visit two places in Tampa during the week, and they are both worth the trip across the bridge.

Cigar City is one of the most well-known craft breweries from Florida. If you want to sound cool to craft brew buffs outside the state you can say “Ya, Cigar City? I’ve been to their tasting room” They have a good selection of beer, lots of swag for sale, and two bars inside the tasting room.

3924 W Spruce St, Tampa, FL 33607

Copper Tail Brewing has a beautiful space and a lot of really great beer. It’s very close to Ikea near Ibor, and it was a great place to recover from a day of shopping at Ikea.

2601 E 2nd Ave, Tampa, FL 33605
