The month of July was full of adventure, indoors and out, as I made my way around St. Petersburg to people and businesses and events I’d never experienced before!
Let’s start with the books:
First, I visited Book & Bottle, a splendid bookstore and wine bar on 6th Street that entices you with its careful selection of reading materials, libations, and treats.
I attended a women’s book group there—Leaders & Readers—and met some fabulous women, discussed an amazing book on boundaries, all in the warmth of this charming shop, which you can find at

Amelia Island Soapery
It was at this lovely event that I had the great pleasure of meeting Dee Wats and her sister Margaret, new owners of Amelia Island Soapery St Pete, which I visited the next day, and you can’t imagine the delightful scents and soaps and lotions and bath bombs and shower steamers and more that greet you when you step into this oasis on Central!
Dee and Margaret are the perfect hosts in guiding you to products that best suit you and your self-care regimen, and you can find them on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/ameliaislandsoapery_st.pete/

Kayaking in the Bay
Come the weekend, and it was time to get on the water for the first time in a kayak, and who better to learn this sport/hobby with than Christine of Wandering Adventures, who put us in at Coopers Bayou in Safety Harbor for a sunset cruise to see the bioluminescence that only blooms certain months of the year.
It was an unforgettable night on the water, and you can find her and her various adventures (day and night) at www.wanderingadventuresllc.com

Charlie and his assistant Kayla offered such expert and fun instruction that it felt like I’d been at this pottery thing for a while, when it actually was the first time I’d even gotten close to a wheel!! They hold group classes frequently, so don’t wait to sign up at www.charlieparkerpottery.com, you’ll love the experience!

And finally, I wrapped my “Best of the Burg” tour for the month at Charlie Parker Pottery, where in just one lesson, I confidently created a salad and soup bowl!

One of the things I love about being a Realtor® in St. Pete is the chance to highlight the amazing people and businesses and events that make this city a special place to live and work.
So each month, I’ll share my love of the area’s unique and brilliant entrepreneurs and experiences, to enhance your love for the ‘Burg, whether you’re a native to the area, a newbie, or somewhere in-between!
This coming month I’ll be focused on the great outdoors, with more kayaking in store from various parks and waterways, as well as some indoor fitness with dance, Zumba, and more, so stay tuned, stay safe, and I’ll see you around St. Pete!
